If you look at a photo and feel like something’s missing, it’s probably the frame! A border around a picture can make it look very different. Depending on the frame, a picture can look simple or sophisticated, cute or elegant, cool or dull. To add a border to a photo, you need a good photo frame maker.
With the help of Movavi’s photo frame editor, you can add a simple white border to all sides, or adapt one of the presets to create your own frame.
In this guide, you will learn how to add a border to a picture in no time.
Install Movavi Photo Editor
Download the setup file. Launch the installation process and follow the instructions on the screen. As soon as the program is installed, it will open automatically.
Add Your Photo
Click Browse for images and insert the pic that needs editing. Alternatively, you can just drag and drop it into the working area.

Add a Frame
To add a frame to a photo, click the Frames icon and select one of the frames. Click the Cogwheel button to modify the settings.

Adjust the size and color of your chosen frame to suit your taste. You can leave the corners square, or you can make them round, so that the image is within a circle. The border is black, grey, or white by default, but you can pick any color from the palette or use the Color picker tool. Click Apply for the changes to take effect.

Save the Photo with the Frame
Once you’ve finished, save the changes by clicking the Save button. In the window that will appear, you can modify the file name and select the preferred format, quality, and folder. Click the Save button again.

Now you know how to add a border to a photo. Using Movavi Photo Editor, you can also add text or put an effect onto your picture to make it perfect from top to bottom.
