How to Save Videos from Facebook
Amongst all its multiple capabilities, Facebook lets its users watch videos online and even upload and post their own in just a few minutes. But, unfortunately, there’s no easy way to do the reverse, i. e. to download a video from Facebook to your local drive. Sure, there are plenty of third-party programs that claim to offer a solution, but there’s no guarantee this kind of software is safe for your computer; you could easily end up with computer viruses, a hijacked Facebook account, stolen private information, SMS banners on your desktop, and other unwanted "extras".
Instead of taking a risk, try Movavi Screen Capture Studio – a simple yet powerful tool for downloading online movies and video clips of any length. The program will help you easily copy a video from Facebook and save it in any popular audio or video format suitable for mobile phones, tablets and media players. Just download the appropriate program version and follow the simple steps below to learn how to rip a video from Facebook. The guide works for both PC and Mac versions.
Step 1: Install the Facebook Video Ripper
Download the installation file, open it and follow the instructions on the screen. When it’s done, the program will run automatically.
Step 2: Adjust the Capturing Frame
In the Windows version, click Capture screen in the main window, when the program starts. On Mac, the screen recording mode will launch by default. Go to Facebook and open the video you want to keep. Click the button in the center of the yellow frame and drag the frame to the video itself. Then set the appropriate size of the frame by pulling on the edges or just choose one of the presets from the Select Capture Area list. If you want to record a Facebook video in the full-screen mode (in HD), select your monitor's name in the Full Screen section.
Step 3: Record Your Video
It’s time to record! Click REC to start the capturing process, wait five seconds, and start playing the video. You can control the recording process with the buttons on the program panel or manage the grabber using hotkeys – in Windows, press F9 to pause/resume, F10 to stop and on a Mac press ⌥ ⌘ 1 and ⌥ ⌘ 2 respectively.
Step 4: Save the Footage on Your Computer
Press Stop to finish the recording process – you’ll see a window where you can play the video you’ve just captured. If there is unwanted material at the beginning or end of the video, you can easily cut them out by dragging the triangular markers at both ends of the timeline to the appropriate spot. If you want to do additional editing, press Edit to launch the built-in editor so you can add background music, use various transitions, improve the image quality, and much more.
No editing needed? Then let’s go straight to the saving process. Open the Save as list and click Video and audio to get the full range of available formats. You can save your video in MP4, AVI, MOV, or any other video format that fits your needs best. If you want to save only the music or other audio in the video, use Screen Capture Studio as a video-to-audio converter – just choose one of the audio formats: MP3, WAV, FLAC, or any other from the list. Pick the format you need and hit Save. After a few moments, the program will automatically take you to the destination folder where your FB video is saved.
Congratulations! You’ve just learned how to download Facebook videos and even convert them to audio with the help of the Screen Capture Studio app!
