How to Download Video from Niconico
Niconico, also known as Nico Nico Douga, is a popular Japanese video sharing service where you can view, share, and upload video clips, add your comments and see others’ comments in real time during playback. But can you download these videos to watch them offline whenever you want? The answer is yes! We suggest you use Movavi Screen Capture Studio, a perfect Nico Nico video downloader. It’s much faster, easier, and safer than most such software you might find on the Web. What’s more, you can also use it as a handy video to audio converter: if you want to convert music from Niconico to MP3, you can just grab it from a video and save in no time.
Just click the appropriate button to download the Windows or Mac version and read the short guide below to learn how to download any Niconico video using Screen Capture Studio.
Step 1: Install the Program
Run the installation file and follow the onscreen instructions.
Step 2: Set the Parameters for the Recording
Open the Niconico page containing the video you want to download and launch Screen Capture Studio. If you use Windows, select Capture screen in the main window, when the program starts. On Mac, the screen recording app will open when you launch the program. You can adjust the size and position of the yellow capture frame manually by pulling on its edges, or choose the appropriate size preset from the Select Capture Area list. Make sure you can see a green checkmark on the System Audio icon; it means that the program will capture sound from the site. If you see a red cross instead, click the icon to change it.
You can also specify the time you want the program to stop after capturing, so you won’t have to track the whole recording process yourself. To do this, click the small clock icon and set the appropriate time options.
Step 3: Capture Niconico Video
Click the REC button and get ready to play the Niconico video; after the five-second countdown, the program will start capturing. Click Pause to take a break, Stop to finish recording, or Cancel to stop without saving. You can also use hotkeys: F9 to pause/resume and F10 to stop (for Windows users) and ⌥ ⌘ 1 to pause/resume and ⌥ ⌘ 2 to stop (for Mac users).
As soon as the recording is over, the preview window appears. Use this opportunity to trim unwanted material from the beginning and/or end of the recorded video by dragging the triangle markers on the seek bar to the desired new start and end points. If you want to do additional editing, click the Edit button to launch the Video Editor app. Here, you can enhance the video, add music, and more. If you prefer not to make any changes, you can just replay the video in the preview window and check that everything is alright before saving.
Step 4: Save the Video
To save the Niconico video you’ve just recorded, open the Save as list, click Video and audio, and select the video format you need. If you only want to save the audio track, choose MP3 or any other audio format from the list. Finally, click the Save button and wait for a few minutes while the program is processing your file.
Now you can enjoy your Niconico downloads anytime, anywhere. It’s so easy with Movavi Screen Capture Studio!
