Niconico, also known as Nico Nico Douga, is a popular Japanese video sharing service where you can view, share, and upload video clips, add your comments and see others’ comments in real time during playback. But can you download these videos to watch them offline whenever you want? The answer is yes! We suggest you use Movavi Screen Recorder, a perfect Nico Nico video downloader. It’s much faster, easier, and safer than most such software you might find on the Web. What’s more, you can also use it as a handy video to audio converter: if you want to convert music from Niconico to MP3, you can just grab it from a video and save in no time.
Just click the appropriate button to download the Windows or Mac version and read the short guide below to learn how to download any Niconico video using Screen Recorder.
Run the installation file and follow the onscreen instructions.
Open the Niconico page containing the video you want to download and launch Screen Recorder. Position the capture frame by holding the left mouse button and dragging the cursor over the video. The capture interface will appear, in which you can also choose a fixed size preset from the Capture Area list. Make sure you see a green highlight by the System Audio icon; this means that the program will capture sound from the site. If it is not highlighted, click the icon to change it.
You can also specify the time at which you want the program to stop capturing, so you don’t have to track the whole recording process in person. To do this, click the alarm clock icon and set the appropriate time options.
Click the REC button and get ready to play the Niconico video; after the three-second countdown, the program will start capturing. Click Pause to take a break, Stop to finish recording, or Cancel to stop without saving. You can also use hotkeys: F9 to pause/resume and F10 to stop (for Windows users) and ⌥ ⌘ 1 to pause/resume and ⌥ ⌘ 2 to stop (for Mac users). Once you've stopped recording, the Niconico video will be automatically saved as an MKV file.
As soon as the recording is over, the preview window appears. Here you can trim unwanted material from anywhere in the video using the marker on the seek bar and the scissors button to cut your video into multiple parts. Mark a part you want to remove and hit the trash can icon to delete it from your video. Repeat this for each unwanted part. Press the Save As button to apply these changes.
The export dialog window will open. Select one of the featured video formats. If you only want to save the audio track, choose MP3. Finally, click the Save button and wait a few moments for the program to process your file.
Now you can enjoy your Niconico downloads anytime, anywhere. It’s so easy with Movavi Screen Recorder!
