Version 5.5 (February 7, 2018)

  • Meet the first application with multiple personality disorder. Even versions call themselves Game Recorder, odd versions prefer the name Gecata. Gecata by Movavi won this round

  • We’ve upped the maximum fps to 120, so you can record your gameplay in the highest possible quality and even apply high-quality slow motion to the footage to show off really epic battles

  • Added DirectX 12 support without overlays

  • Improved performance when recording games on DirectX 9

  • Your game recordings will have the same name as the game they are from so you can easily find them

  • Added the option to display overlays on the recorded video

  • Gecata supports even more games now – we’ve tested the program with a lot of new games. See the full list of supported games

  • The “Enable NVIDIA GPU acceleration” setting is no longer active by default. You can activate it in the settings if you wish

  • On the “Video” tab, we’ve disabled the VBR bitrate option if one or more of the acceleration settings are enabled. This is to reduce the file size of recorded videos

  • Fixed issues with recording Call of Duty: WW II, Tom Clancy's The Division, Quantum Break and several other games

  • Gecata no longer crashes if you exit the Inside game before you shut down the recording program

  • Overlays will now be displayed during game recording when using MSAA (multisample anti-aliasing) in games on DirectX 10 and 11

  • Added extended codec settings: choose between VBR and ABR bitrates and tweak recording quality to suit your needs
