How to apply special effects to a video with Movavi Video Editor

Step 1. Install Movavi’s video editor

Hit the button below to download the installation file. Launch the file and follow the on-screen instructions. Run the app once the installation is over.

Step 2. Import your videos

Click Add Files and choose the videos you want to edit, or simply drag and drop your files into the program window. Then place your video on the timeline.

Step 3. Apply visual effects

To check out a VFX collection, open the Elements tab and click Special effects.

Choose the effect you like, then drag and drop it on the timeline above the main video track. In the preview window, adjust the size and position of the element. 

Go to Clip properties. Here, you can experiment with blending modes to find the one that is perfect for your video. If you want the overlay effect to move with an object in your video, use the Motion tracking feature. 

Step 4. Export your video

Awesome! Now, it’s time to export your cool video with stunning effects. Hit Export, set the desired output parameters, and click Start.
