If you watch live musical performances or free video lectures and download them to your local hard drive, it’s often more convenient to save them in the MP3 format and transfer them to your MP3 player to listen on the road or at the gym. As you’ve probably noticed, however, most online clips are encoded in the FLV (Flash) format, not MP3, so you need to transfer your FLV files to MP3 which is more flexible. Fortunately, it’s really simple to extract MP3s from FLV video using Movavi Video Converter. This powerful software will help you to convert video and audio files between many formats. Download the application and check out the easy steps below to learn how to convert FLV to MP3.

1. Install the FLV-to-MP3 converter that’s free to download

Download and run the installation file. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the Movavi software.

2. Select the files for converting

Add files for conversion to the program by going to Add Media > Add video. The built-in batch conversion process makes it possible to convert as many clips as you want in one go, so you can easily turn a series of FLV videos into a single MP3 podcast.

3. Specify the format and the output folder

You'll find MP3 presets under Audio > MP3. Select one of the presets – you can choose from a variety of bitrates, but keep in mind that higher bitrate files will surely take up more space. If the original file has average or better audio quality, you can select the MP3 - Original bitrate preset.

Once you've specified the output format, you can change the destination folder by clicking the Folder icon.

4. Convert FLV to MP3 for free

Make sure to check the destination for your converted files will be placed in the Save to field; if necessary, specify a different path by clicking the Folder icon.

Now, when everything is set, simply click Convert and wait when all the added files are processed. When the conversion is complete, the output folder will open automatically unless you have specified otherwise in Preferences.

5. Transfer the output files to your media player

Connect your device with the computer and open its flash drive folder. Select the output files you want to move to your player or smartphone, right-click them and select Copy. Then return to the device’s folder, right-click the empty space and select Paste. That’s all! Now you can enjoy your MP3 music or lectures.
