How to Convert FLV Video to MP3 Audio
If you watch live musical performances or free video lectures and download them to your local hard drive, it’s often more convenient to save them in the MP3 format and transfer them to your MP3 player to listen on the road or at the gym. As you’ve probably noticed, however, most online clips are encoded in the FLV (Flash) format, not MP3, so you need to transfer your FLV files to MP3 which is more flexible. Fortunately, it’s really simple to extract MP3s from FLV video using Movavi Video Converter. This powerful software for Windows and Mac will help you to convert video and audio files between almost any formats. Download the version you need and check out the easy steps below to learn how to convert FLV to MP3.
This guide is for the previous version of Movavi Video Converter. The information will be updated in the near future. You can download the latest version of the app here.
Step 1: Download and Install FLV to MP3 Converter
Download Movavi Video Converter, open the file, and follow the guidelines on the installation.
Step 2: Select the Files for Converting
Add files to the program with the Add Video button. The built-in batch conversion makes it possible to process as many clips as you want in one go, so you can easily turn a series of FLV videos into a single MP3 podcast.
Step 3: Specify the Format and the Output Folder
To choose MP3 as the output format, first you'll need to open the Convert to list. You'll find MP3 presets under Video and audio > MP3 (Audio Only). Select one of the presets – you can choose from a variety of bitrates, but keep in mind that higher bitrate files usually take up more space. If the original file has average or better audio quality, you can select the MP3 – Same as input preset.
Once you have specified the output format, you can change the destination folder by clicking the Browse button.
Step 4: Convert FLV to MP3
Now, when everything is set, simply click Convert and wait when all the added files are processed. When the conversion is complete, the output folder will open automatically unless you have specified otherwise in Preferences.
Step 5: Transfer the Output Files to Your Media Player
Connect your device with the computer and open its flash drive folder. Select the output files you want to move to your player or smartphone, right-click them and select Copy. Then return to the device’s folder, right-click the empty space and select Paste. That’s all! Now you can enjoy your MP3 music or lectures.
