When it comes to photo editing, many of us give up at the very idea of trying it, assuming that it’s going to be incredibly complicated. Even apparently simple adjustments like cropping and cutting an image may seem like impossible challenges. However, the truth is that today you don’t have to be a professional designer to simply cut a picture. All you need is an easy-to-use photo cutter, like Movavi Picverse. This powerful program is perfect for basic photo editing. Download Movavi’s image trimmer and follow the guides below to learn how to cut an image or cut out objects in just a few simple steps.
How to Cut a Picture
Cropping an image is one of the simplest and most popular editing tricks. You might want to cut out a single person from a group photo, emphasize a particular part of the image, or get rid of unnecessary space on one side. Take a look at the tutorial below and discover how to cut a photo with Picverse Photo Editor.
Step 1. Install Movavi’s Image Cutter
Download the PC or Mac version of the app from our website. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the picture trimmer.
Step 2. Add Your Photo
Click Browse for Images to open the photo you want to edit or simply drag-and-drop it into the working area.
Step 3. Crop the Image
After the image has been added, open the Crop and Rotate tab. The dotted-line frame shows the area of the pic that will be cropped. If you need to change the size of the frame, simply drag its edges. When you’ve set the frame area to what you need, click Apply to see the result. If you are not satisfied with the way your image looks after cropping, simply click the Revert Changes button and try again.
Step 4. Save the Cropped Image
To save the final result, click the Save icon in the top right-hand corner of the program. In the opened window, specify the destination folder, file name, and format. You can save your picture in JPEG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, or any other popular image format.
Now you see how easy it is to learn how to cut photos on a PC or Mac.
How to Remove an Image Background
Background removal is another popular feature that many people find useful. It enables you to feel the true magic of photo editing by cutting out objects and placing them on top of other images, or substituting dull backgrounds with more picturesque landscapes or solid colors. Creating photo montage is also an entertaining way to explore creative concepts. Follow the steps below to see how to implement your ideas with Picverse Photo Editor.
Step 1. Install Software
Open the downloaded file and start the installation process.
Step 2. Add the Image to the Program
Launch the app. Click the Browse for Images button and choose the image to upload, or simply drag your photo into the working area.
Step 3. Delete the Background
Click Change Background on the right side of the window. First, you need to distinguish between the foreground and the background in the picture. You can do this automatically just by clicking Auto Select. For manual selection, use the Foreground Brush to highlight what should be kept in the picture. Then, with the help of the Background Brush, mark the background. Another way to manually select an object is to use the Lasso tool. If you are not satisfied with your selection, you can always clear your highlights with the Selection Eraser tool. When the mark-up is done, click Next Step.
Use the Object Selection brush to make the outline more precise and the Background Selection brush to delete any unwanted areas that remain after the last step. Use the Hair Selection tool to refine smaller details in the picture. Once you’re done, click Next Step again.
Now the background is transparent with the foreground object remaining in place. To replace the background with a different photo, click Add Image. In the new window, click Upload to choose a photo from your computer or pick a background from our collection. Alternatively, you can choose to fill the background with a solid color from the palette. When everything is ready, click Apply.
Step 4. Save the Result
Click the Save icon, and in the opened window, give the new file a name, choose the desired format (JPEG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, etc.), and set the destination folder. Note that, if you want to keep the background transparent, you should save your image in a format that supports transparency such as PNG or TIFF.
Cutting images is truly easy to do with Picverse Photo Editor! Now you know how to cut pictures, change backgrounds, and cut out objects to paste onto other images. Image editing is way easier than you think!
