Vevo is a popular video hosting service specializing in music clips and live performances. Many of its videos are available for online viewing in HD. But wouldn’t it be great to download Vevo videos to your hard drive and watch them offline on your mobile devices? Now you can, with Movavi Screen Recorder – a simple screen recording tool that easily grabs your favorite Vevo music videos and save them in MP4, AVI, MOV, or other popular formats. You can also use the program as a Vevo-to-MP3 converter to save just the songs from the videos of your choice.
To learn how to record Vevo videos, download the appropriate version for your OS and read the guide below, which works for both PC and Mac versions of the program.
After downloading, open the installation file and follow the on-screen instructions. When the setup process is complete, the program will start automatically.
First, locate the Vevo video you want to rip. Draw the capture frame over the player on Vevo with your mouse, then adjust the frame manually (by pulling on its edges) or choose a size preset from the Capture Area list, if needed.
Press the REC button to start the recording. Play the chosen video after the three-second countdown. To control the capture process, use the Cancel, Pause and Stop buttons. Windows users can press F9 to pause the recording and F10 to end it. Mac users can press ⌥ ⌘ 1 and ⌥ ⌘ 2 respectively. Once the recording process is complete, the video will be automatically saved to your hard drive as an MKV file. You will see the captured video in the preview window – if no further tweaks are required, you can simply close it.
If you want to cut some of the recorded material out of your final file, you can do this in the preview window. Position the marker at the beginning of the segment you want to remove and cut the video in two using the scissors. Cut again at the end of the unwanted segment, then select it with a left click and press trash can – the selected part will be deleted. Do this for all unwanted sections in your video and click Save As to finalize the changes you've made.
In the export window, pick one of the popular video formats. If you’re saving only the audio, choose MP3. Click Save; after just a few minutes, your captured Vevo video will be ready.
